What CSAR Offers
Cincinnati Search & Recovery (CSAR) is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to assisting law enforcement and emergency agencies in the search for missing persons—at no cost to the agency, family, or community.
We are fully funded through donations, and our team is made up of diverse professionals united by a common mission to bring the missing home.
Our specialized teams include:
- K9 Team: Nationally certified K9s trained in live area search, trailing, and land/water human remains detection—including advanced HRD (Human Remains Detection) crime scene skills.
- Family Liaison Team: One of the few organizations with a dedicated team to support families through every step of this emotional and difficult journey.
- Forensic Team: Skilled in bone and evidence collection to assist in critical investigations. Team has access to varies areas in forensic, such as anthropology, ballistics, odontology etc.,
- Drone Team: Licensed under the FAA (LAA certified), providing aerial support and advanced search capabilities.
- Water Recovery Team: Certified water operators for search and recovery in aquatic environments, and trained to locate where human remains could be in bodies in water.
- Disaster Response: Capable of responding to mass fatality incidents and natural disasters.
At CSAR, we combine compassion, professionalism, and specialized training to offer hope and answers during the most critical moments.
Missing persons privacy
We are committed to raising awareness by sharing flyers for missing persons. However, during active searches, we prioritize the privacy of families and will only post information with their explicit consent.
If you have any tips or information regarding a missing person, please report them directly to the appropriate law enforcement agency. While we do have investigators on our team, it is the responsibility of the police to handle and respond to all tips.
